Zambezi Whitewater - Rafting
In 1855 the famous missionary, David Livingstone, travelled down the Zambezi River and discovered Victoria Falls. These falls are 2km wide and the Zambezi River drops 100m into the gorge below. It is considered one of the seven natural wonders of the world, and it is here that we start our Zambezi adventures...
The Zambezi in all its splendour is like no other river on earth. We start this spectacular rafting journey beneath the thunderous Victoria Falls and paddle out amongst the most breathtaking scenery, with hippos lazing on the riverside. The whitewater is big and totally exhilarating, with powerful rapids that will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat! Nights are spent relaxing, camping on gorgeous warm white sandy beaches with a drink or two in hand and the peaceful humming sounds of wildlife all around. With a stunning flight through Batoka Gorge and over the gorgeous Victoria Falls to finish, this will certainly be an experience that you will never forget!
As an extension we offer a 3 day Game Safari in Botswana. With the chance to get up-close and personal with elephants, lions, monkeys and leopards, this is the perfect finale to your adventure and a real taste of Africa.
Alternatively if you fancy combining a shorter rafting trip with a Game Safari, AdventureX offer an 8 day trip – 5 days rafting/3 safari
This trip is also available to kayakers looking for a ‘full-on thrill!’ At the right time of year and flow the Zambezi is very accessible and achievable and worth its weight in gold! Get yourself a good roll and let’s go!

Day 2
After breakfast and safety briefing we start the trip beneath Victoria Falls and prepare for one of the most action packed and adrenalin-fuelled rafting adventures in the world. The day is rounded off with a well deserved cold beer at camp watching the amazing African sunset and preparing for our 1st night under the stars.

An early rise and we paddle down the confluence with the Matetsi River where we are met by our gear truck. Then we have a real finale to the trip – we are picked up by helicopter and flown right back up the river giving an amazing view of the previous 7 days’ excitement. A truly breathtaking end to any river trip. And it doesn’t end there - we are dropped at our luxury hotel, high on the banks of the river. Sitting on the balcony above the rapids enjoying sundowners is the perfect finish to any trip.
