Rapture Camps Morocco

Rapture Surf Camp Morocco

If you want to warm up your winter, join our surf camp. Everybody who wants to get away from it all or simply wants to have a perfect surf trip and party with friends finds the right place at Rapture Surf Camp Morocco.

Living Moroccan and enjoying Good Food
The camp is placed in a small Moroccan style house. It is located 15 km north of Agadir in the idyllic village Tamraght right off the bottom of the mountains and not far from the sea. The beaches are still unspoilt and even by feet only a few minutes away. Right from the camp terrace you can check the swell every morning. Afterwards you get your daily breakfast. In the evening (except Sundays) you will get a dinner with local and international meals. Before and after your surf you can chill out on the terrace, in the garden or Moroccan salon. There you find the newest mag´s, videos and music.

Surfing around Agadir
From Banana Point for beginners to Boilers for the pro´s. Our guides will coach you if needed and will take you to all the surf spots. The swell is constant throughout the winter. The water temperature is around 18 C - we suggest a steamer (3/2 or 4/3). If you do not have a surfboard or a wetsuit we can provide you for a little lending fee.

Packing Slip for Advanced Travellers
Along your personal stuff bring with your sleeping bag and towels. We do provide some bedding. Bring also warmer clothing for the colder evenings and nights.

Dirham, Euro and Credit Card
The Moroccan currency is the Dirham. 10 Dirham is about 1 Euro. Normally you only get Dirhams in Morocco. Therefore you should bring cash in Euro, in other major currencies, a Maestro-(EC)- or credit card. You can change cash at exchange offices at the airport or at banks in Agadir. The airport and most of the banks provide ATM´s. The cheapest way is to change cash.

Entry to Morocco
For entering Morocco your passport has to be valid at least 6 months. Also you have to fill in a landing card that you will get on your flight or at least right in front of the passport control. On the card you have to fill in your personal data and your destination in Morocco. In the column "Hotel" you have to fill in "Surf Camp Tamraght". At the passport control you will get a 90 day visa.

Transfer from and to the Airport
We provide transfer with our camp van from and to the airport for 15 Euro per person and direction.

Morocco is the first place you hit heading south from Europe, separated from Europe by the Straights of Gibraltar. Morocco is the land of the Long right hand point breaks, and the coastline around the Agadir area is riddled with spots. This ensures surfing uncrowded waves. There are empty waves everywhere and during the winter months they are all pumping.

Morocco is best surfed in Europe's Winter and usually good until late April, the rest of the year can be pretty windy and non eventful. When the big swells run down the coast the point breaks come alive and our advice is to head to Rapture Surf Camp in Tamaraght and if its a really decent swell head to Safi if you like surfing solid 10 to 15 ft big barreling right hander, no much to do there if there's no swell its a small industrial town. Agadir is the easiest place to get to by air. Tagazoute is the main surf town in Morocco but riddled with cheap dirty Hotels, you'll also require a car if you are to surf all of the points. 1km from Tagazoute is Tamaraght it is 15km out of Agadir and only 40min drive from the airport by car this is where you'll find all the points and decent surf camps . First spot you come to is 11ths and 12ths both break off submerged rocks lefts and rights and run into a beach short but can be quite fun but usually fat. Then you come to the first point Banana point mainly for beginners but if you have the right swell direction you can get about a 400metre ride starting from Devils rock through to the beach , then you have crappy beach breaks for 1km known as Home Beach. Then comes Panorama and hash points short and small only working when there's a decent swell coming into Anka's . Next Anka Point is a must if you are going to surf Morocco, when its on it can break up to a kilometer , killer point is a perfect spot to surf when its about 4ft and off shore. In between Anka's and Killers is Mysteries and La source short but fun waves on a good day you can surf lefts and rights off both spots , for a short but fun barreling wave Boilers is a great option but it breaks on reef and in front of rocks not a spot for beginners about 30min drive from town . After Boilers you come to another spot called Mysteries 2 average waves short and breaks over a flat bed of rocks , then you can drive along the coast past several unnamed spots that can get good on the right swells. After about 5mins of driving you come to Tamri Plage Beach break , very big beach open to all swells and winds , you'll never find this spot flat , great spot for Kite boarders and surfers when theres no wind , and the last place to surf within the area is Immesouane , about a 30min drive from Tamri further North , a small fishing port with a beach break , that has great rights and lefts with the right banks , on the left of the beach break is the port which has a 500 to 600 metre right hander which runs into a beach , needs big swell to wrap around the man made pier , but on the right day one of the best spots in Morocco and uncrowded . If you are well prepared and are looking for unchartered waves then travel down south towards the dessert or Sidi Ifni you will definatly find perfect waves , you will require a 4wd and food supplies. Many Secret spots along the way .
