Hooked Cabarete is known as a relaxed and very nice place which is situated at one of the most beautiful locations in and around Cabarete and only a few minutes walk from the surf beach Encuentro. A great place for active people, surfers and kite surfers, and also the perfect alternative for the big hotels. The high quality apartments are suited for 1, 2 or 3 persons and all have their own kitchen, bathroom, couch, covered terrace and swimming pool in the large, tropical garden. Hooked Cabarete has apartments with single and double beds. Some of the apartments have optional air-conditioning. Others have a natural ventilation system and fan. There is free internet access and for babies there are baby beds available.
In and around Cabarete there is a lot to do. Surfing and kite surfing, but also many other things like snorkelling, boat trips, rafting, mountain biking, wake boarding, horse back riding and jeefsafaries or other tours. If you like to see more of the country with a small group of people, Hooked organizes several trips into the mountains, hidden villages, cities or beaches to see more of the local culture. Hooked also organises frequently activities like Sushi Nights, dinners in typical Dominican restaurants, off road ATV tours in the mountains, surf trips, kite trips and downwinders. Also in and around Cabarete there is a lot to see and do. At Hooked you can get many tips or advice about where to go and what to do and they are happy to take you to places where tourists normally don't come.
For those who would like to learn kite surfing, Hooked Cabarete works together with a professional surf school, diving school and IKO related kite surf school. Hooked offers surf and kite surf lessons and full courses for beginners as well as for advanced riders. For kite surfers who prefer to kite at Kitebeach, Hooked has the possibility to store your gear there for free.
Recently Hooked also started working with one of the best diving schools in the area. The underwaterlife of the Atlantic Ocean is wonderful and definitely worth while exploring. The school offers certificated courses for beginners and advanced divers, rescue courses, deep water dives, and also wreck, night and cavediving. All for extremely good prices starting at US$ 35. |

I would highly recommend Hooked Cabarete over any 5-star all-inclusive resort. The place is immaculate, the gardens beautifully manicured, warm bread is delivered to your doorstep every morning, and Ybo and Chantal are charming, warm and hospitable hosts.
Hooked is a stone's throw away from the beach, is a great spot for both surfers and kite-surfers, and is a 10-minute drive into Cabarete where the most delectable restaurants are to be found.

"Cabarete is the most amazing place, it has a great atmosphere and staying at hooked was a great way to enjoy it! Being able to wake up and walk down to the beach from the front door and surf every morning is the best, especially when its an uncrowded surf break with really cool locals. The weather was awesome and the trade winds blew meaning the kitesurfing was awesome in the afternoons and the hooked locker made it so easy to rock up and kite as soon as the wind blows.
The apartment was really cool and the apartment block itself looks beautiful in the cabarete sun the surroundings are really peaceful. I had some of the best parties of my life within in my time staying at hooked, the bars are right on the beach and the drink is cheap but the nights sat outside the apartment doors watching the sunset in the surrounding fields were equally satisfying. The Dominican Republic has a beautiful, varied nature and very friendly people. Cabarete is a village which has not succumbed to mass tourism and gives a lot of fun for all. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and there are many nice restaurants; from typical Dominican to international kitchens. At the bars on the beach you can choose to chill and relax or dance until it gets light. There is live music, DJ sessions and on many nights the cuba libra's and presidente's are free flowing till the early morning.
The apartments are the closest accommodation to the beach Encuentro. A beautiful beach where you don't see the negative sides of tourism yet. Friendly people and great waves for wave surfing and kite surfing. The atmosphere at Encuentro is relaxed and from there you can make long walks along the endless beaches without seeing anybody. For kitesurfers who prefer more flat water, there is the possibility to kite at kitebeach and store your gear there for free.
For walking to the beach you only need your two feet. A few minutes walk. Transporting yourself to the center of Cabarete, Sosua or where ever you want to go, is very easy. There are many busses and motoconcho's which you can find at the beach or the main road. Although if you would prefer, Hooked Cabarete also gives the opportunity to rent a scooter with your apartment. Not only ideal to move yourself in and outside Cabarete, but also great to check out the beautiful nature of the Dominican Republic, to see how the Dominicans live or to go to one of the surrounding villages.
