Coruh River Rafting Expedition in Turkey

World-class class 5 white water!

A rafting expedition on the world-class white water of the Coruh River. Fed by snow-melt from the Eastern Black Sea Mountains in north-east Turkey, the Coruh flows through spectacular canyons and narrow, fertile valleys of orchards and tiny paddy fields, past ancient ruined castles, all set against a backdrop of magnificent rugged mountains. This is an unforgettable experience for those in search of adrenaline and adventure.

The area is virtually untouched by tourism and is fairly remote even by Turkish standards, giving us a rare opportunity to experience the beautiful natural landscape and the traditional life of the incredibly friendly and hospitable local villagers. During the trip we camp wild by the riverside, living the outdoor life to the full.

Alternatif Outdoor has been running regular expeditions on the Coruh River since 1992 and is still the only Turkish company to operate tours on this river. We believe our local knowledge of the area and the people will substantially enhance your enjoyment of the trip.

Itinerary / Highlights

The trip starts and ends at Erzurum airport, which is served by daily Turkish Airlines flights from Istanbul and Ankara.

Camping. We provide all camping equipment except sleeping bags and mats (we have these available for rental if required).
